Hundreds flock to Jinja for explore Busoga tourism campaign

Led by Martin Mugarra, the minister of state for tourism wildlife and antiquities, over 500 local tourists are assembled in Jinja city, Eastern Uganda for the fifth leg of the tourism campaign dubbed 'Explore Busoga.' 

In company of local artists Jose Chameleon, John Baq, kick-boxer Moses Golola among several other social media influencers, the group made the first stop-over at Najjembe in Mabira forest from where they grabbed pieces of roasted chicken and photoshoots.

The mammoth proceeded to the Nile bridge where they disembarked respective vehicles and crossed the bridge by foot amidst ululations from the welcoming teams, who also displayed their traditional dances.

"Team Busoga" was led by Hellen Namutamba, the Busoga kingdom's minister for tourism.

For starters, the tourists visited the Nile breweries factory and Nalubaale dam on the River Nile.

They retired in Jinja city from where the group will embark on the Kagulu hike challenge on Friday during the second day's visit to the city.

"It is our duty to continue telling our stories as well as showcasing the beautiful pearls that Uganda has got to offer," Mugarra stated. 

Whereas the official flagoff was on Thursday, the Explore Busoga campaign started on Tuesday with several activities and stakeholders engagement within Jinja city.
