FMU clears drivers for Africa Rally Championship in Kenya

In a letter to the Kenya Motorsport Federation (KMSF), FMU president Dipu Ruparelia said the 10 crews have been cleared to participate in the Equator Rally from April 23 to 25.

The Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has cleared 10 drivers to participate in the Equator Rally on Friday in Kenya.

In a letter to the Kenya Motorsport Federation (KMSF), FMU president Dipu Ruparelia said the 10 crews have been cleared to participate in the Equator Rally from April 23 to 25.

The FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) event will serve as a doubleheader with points also counting towards the Kenya National Rally Championship. It is also the first competition on the ARC calendar following the postponement of the season-opening Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally.

The event starts on Friday afternoon with the Shakedown before heading for the stages on Saturday and Sunday in Naivasha.

Totalling 626.19kms, the rally has 11 competitive stages with 207.42kms and 418.77kms liaison.
