FIFA has sent officials to inspect, assess and submit reports on the progress of FIFA-funded projects in Uganda. The projects are Kadiba, Lugazi stadium, and FUFA House.

FIFA Development Project Coordinator (UNAF & CECAFA) Abigail Lemma Hailemicheal and the Expert on Infrastructure on Green Building, Raoul Ngenzi Ndabarasa Gisanura here to check on these projects.

The FIFA team was received by FUFA's first vice-president Justus Mugisha, second vice president Darius Mugoye, FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, and FUFA Projects Manager Sumaya Kiwanuka.

The construction of the Kadiba facility, which started in April 2018, will house a stadium, training centre among other facilities.

The first phase of the facility was completed, however, the second which was also still on course was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The project was supposed to cover a total cost of $4.4m

However, works on the Lugazi stadium project whose land was donated by the Buganda Kingdom were also yet to start due to the pandemic.

For FUFA headquarters, it has already been reconstructed and expanded

“The football headquarters could no longer provide a proper working environment for the staff.  And when you look at the number of staff, it increased from eight to 60,” FUFA boss Moses Magogo stated back in 2019.
