The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Teso Zone has scheduled February 12 and 13, 2026 as the tentative dates for inspecting facilities in schools that submitted bids to host the upcoming zonal ball games.
The bidding window, which ran from January 1 to 31, 2026, saw two districts—Ngora and Bukedea, submit proposals to host Ball Games I.
Ngora District put forward Ngora Parents School as the main venue, with Teso Integrated School named as co-host. In Bukedea District, Bukedea Secondary School and Lifeline Secondary School were proposed as hosts.
USSSA Teso Zone General Secretary Peter Okwii confirmed that the inspection exercise will take place on February 12 and 13.
“The zone has received bidding requests from two districts seeking the right to host the games. However, we have not yet declared the hosting school. That decision will be made after inspection,” Okwii said.
He explained that the final choice will be announced once the zonal inspection team conducts physical assessments of the facilities at the schools and districts that expressed interest.
Sports official John Robert Osuu noted that both districts have previously hosted similar events and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver.
“Getting two local governments to apply to host these prestigious regional games is a sign that schools are adapting to the goals of the USSSA sports policy,” said Osuu.
According to USSSA regulations, host schools must demonstrate adequate accommodation, reliable water supply, security, sufficient playing grounds, a functional secretariat, and food storage facilities before approval is granted.
Last year, the USSSA Teso Zone Ball Games I were hosted by Kumi Municipality, with Wiggins School serving as the main host and Bishop Maraka as co-host.
