Entebbe Club golfers, playing under the social group Katogo, defeated their Kenyan counterparts from Limuru Golf Club 16.5–11.5 points as the two nations clashed in the return leg of the cross-border I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
The Kenyan team had claimed victory in the first leg of the event, dubbed the ‘Migingo Skirmishes,’ in Limuru back in November 2024 after posting 399 points to Uganda’s 343, with the best ten scores counting for the overall team score.
However, Entebbe prevailed in the return leg, which was played under a match-play format.

The concept of the Migingo Skirmishes was initiated in 2024 by Kihara Maina, Regional CEO of I&M Bank, after he participated in the second edition of the Katogo Golf Series in June of the same year in Entebbe. The tournament wound up with a lively 19th-hole experience, where both sets of golfers enjoyed themselves into the early hours of the morning.
Kihara Maina stated that the tournament has significantly strengthened ties between golfers from both nations.
“This tournament allows us to experience new cultures and build lasting friendships, as we are witnessing today. We are pleased to see its continued growth and are confident it will become even stronger. As a financial institution, I&M Bank is committed to supporting initiatives that create long-term value. The event is not just about golf but about fostering relationships and new business opportunities. We are proud of its progress and recognise that our region is evolving rapidly, with expanding trade,” he said.
