Football fans travelling during the FIFA World Cup 26™ will no longer have to worry about missing a match.

Emirates has announced that it will broadcast every match of the tournament live onboard its flights through
Sport 24, the airline's dedicated live sports channel available on its award-winning ice in-flight entertainment system.

The initiative is designed to ensure that passengers remain connected to one of the world's biggest sporting events, even while flying at 40,000 feet. From the opening match in Mexico to the final scheduled for July 19 in the United States, travellers aboard Emirates flights will be able to follow every goal, save, and dramatic moment in real time.

The move underscores Emirates' commitment to enhancing the passenger experience through premium entertainment offerings. As global travel continues to rebound and customer expectations evolve, airlines are increasingly seeking innovative ways to keep travellers engaged throughout their journeys.

According to Emirates, passengers can access the complete World Cup broadcast schedule through the June edition of the airline's ice magazine, allowing them to plan their viewing around flight times.

FIFA World Cup matches will be shown in its Dubai lounges, where operationally possible, extending the tournament atmosphere to travellers before and after their flights.

Beyond football, Emirates continues to expand its live sports portfolio. Passengers can also enjoy coverage of major sporting events, including the NBA Finals, Sail Grand Prix races, and selected Formula One Grand Prix events, reinforcing the airline's position as a leader in onboard entertainment.

For football enthusiasts crossing continents during the World Cup, Emirates' latest offering means that travel no longer has to come at the expense of following the beautiful game. Instead, passengers can remain part of the global football conversation wherever their journey takes them.

As competition intensifies among international carriers, investments in premium entertainment experiences such as live sports streaming are becoming increasingly important in attracting and retaining customers.

Emirates' decision to bring every FIFA World Cup 26™ match onboard reflects a broader industry trend toward delivering seamless, connected, and immersive travel experiences.
