Darters renew rivalry

National Darts League at Mamerito hotel

The battle for the Darts National League continues on Saturday and Sunday with several games on card at Mamerito Hotel in Wakiso district.

The battle ground is set and darters will be out to prove their worth as these games also count on their national rankings.

In the Saturday games, Bank of Uganda takes on Uganda Police force, Uganda Wildlife Authority takes on Uganda Peoples Defence Forces, KOBs take on Kakira and Bank of Uganda playing Uganda Cancer Institute.

In the Bank of Uganda game against Police, Sarah Makanga is set to renew her rivalry with long-time rival Maria Namuganyi of Police in what will be a tight and nerve-tickling encounter.

In the other games, Uganda Prisons Service battle on Leasure-tec, Pearl battle Police, Uganda Prisons entertain Silver Springs Darts Club, and the last game of the day will be battle of forces as Police and Prisons tussle it out.

Ronald Kalete who last week won the national ranking tournament together with team captain Andrew Emomeri lead Prison Warders against their sister forces Police in what promises to be a tightly contested fixture.

However, the Police led by Patrick Ochieng, is set to give Prisons hard time. James Leto, Geofrey Onen and Franco Oyugi form Police’s men’s team while Maria Namuganyi, Jennifer Kageye, Jackie Ngarambe and Mercy Atigo will lead the female side of Prisons.

On Sunday, over 14 fixtures including Bank of Uganda playing Uganda Wildlife Authority, Pearl taking on UPDF, Police versus Silver Springs and Prisons testing Kakira.

Harriet Akot and Margret Tumuhairwe are some of the female darters team UPDF will rely on to score points for them.
