Reigning ABU Africa Super Lightweight champion, Latibu ‘Dancing Master’ Muwonge is confident of landing the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa title.

Ranked second in Africa by the World Boxing Council (WBC), Muwonge is set to take on Ghana’s Faisal Abubakari ‘Poncho Power’ in what will turn out to be his ever career toughest fight.

The two electric lightweights are gearing up for their blockbuster fight scheduled for February 24th, 2024 at the Lord’s Wembley Sukura Arena in Accra Ghana.

“This fight being on a foreign land is a tricky one and my toughest ever. That aside I have sharpened my swords and am ready to go. Expect to see a different Dancing Master.” Muwonge told Vision Sport.

“I’m going to unveil my A-game and new techniques that many of my fans have never witnessed. I have trained enough meaning I’m fit enough. Trust me I’m going to shock Abubakari and win this belt on his own soil”

Since the start of this year, Muwonge has been training at the newly constructed Nakivubo stadium’s Ham Fitness gym under coaches Abu Mukiibi and Ismael Ssemakula.

The Zana based boxer will come into this one undefeated in the paid ranks cruising with a ring record of 8-0-0.

But in Abubakari, he faces a toughest opponent who like Muwonge is also un defeated since making his pro debut in 2019.

The Ghanaian has won all his 15 pro fights on top of mastering to knockout his opponents with 13 on the turn.

Asked about Abubakari's speciality in knocking out opponents, Muwonge says he is unfazed about this.

“I don’t care about Abubakari's records. Whether he is good at knockouts or not is meaningless to me.”

Like Muwonge his manager Polish Joachim Plambek of JP Management believes they are determined to do a shocker in Ghana and return back with the belt.
