Uganda is looking to return to winning ways in the ICC Challenge League B after they lost to Jersey on Friday.

It’s a new day for coach Lawrence Mahatlane’s side who need to find form and get back in the winners, circle.

They cannot afford to stumble because they failed to adapt quickly to the conditions in Lugogo, something they ought to change.

“I think they bowled better to the conditions when the bowl went softer in the conditions than we did earlier on. So it’s the quicker you learn at the international level the better and I am comfortable we are in a space where we can make that happen,” stated Mahatlane.

In general, the Cricket Cranes have to make swift improvements in many departments starting with completing their key performance indicators.

“We appreciate that we didn’t master our processes well on Friday and we are still looking forward to making sure we achieve our KPI’s for the upcoming game,” he explained.

Hong Kong are no slouches, they already defeated Italy on Saturday and have everything to gain. With victory over Uganda they can go into first place so the Cricket Cranes have to ensure they lock in that victory.

“I think the biggest thing for us is to make sure that we hit our processes. If you look at the Jersey game we didn’t bat all our overs and we missed our opportunities in the field we could have had a few wickets early on which would have put them under some pressure,” he explained.

They have to come out with a clear and concise game plan that will allow them to show off how hard they have worked in the last few weeks.

The coach also has the problem of vice-captain Deus Muhumuza who got injured on Friday. He attended the teams last training session in Kyambogo but watched from the sidelines.
