Kampala Capital City Authority FC reclaimed joint top position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table after defeating URA 2-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Friday. The victory lifted KCCA to 14 points, level with Police FC, who have a game in hand.
KCCA FC coach Jackson Magera said the tax collectors were a difficult side to face.

“URA was a tough team to play. We worked well together, and every player fought for the badge. We carried that mentality into this game and stayed on top.”
“The team’s spirit and focus are improving match by match. I’m confident we can continue this run and keep competing for the title.”
The breakthrough arrived in the 17th minute when Ssebaduka beat his marker and delivered a cross that deflected to Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who fired the ball into the net.
Ahimbisibwe added a second in the 41st minute and later walked away with the Man of the Match award.
Joseph Ssemujju pulled one back for URA in the 73rd minute, but the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.
KCCA made late tactical substitutions, including Emmanuel Anyama for Saidi Mayanja, Gavin Kizito for Ahimbisibwe and Sharifu Ssengendo for Lazaro Muhindo.
Anyama had two opportunities to seal the win but was denied by the goalkeeper and by his own miss. Despite late cautions for James Mubezi and Charles Lukwago, KCCA held on for the three points.
