City Oilers will face off with Rezlife Saints on Sunday at Lugogo Indoor Arena after first meeting KCCA Panthers on Saturday in Mukono, completing a tough double-header weekend.

In the first round, Rezlife Saints ended City Oilers’ unbeaten run with a strong 62–48 victory, which remained the Oilers’ only loss.

In that game, Rezlife’s Edrine Ekau led the way with a game-high 25 points, while Hon Kwany added 11. Michael Otieno recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, highlighting the Saints’ all-round performance.

City Oilers guard Fayed Baale continues to play a key role in their campaign, combining scoring, shooting, and defensive work. The Oilers lead the table with 10 wins going into the second round.

“If we stay disciplined, share the ball well, and defend as a unit, we give ourselves a strong chance in every game no matter the opponent,” he said.

“Our focus is consistency every night, executing our system, trusting each other, and making sure we control the tempo from the start to the final buzzer,” he added.

Baale averages 14.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4 assists, and shoots 37% from three-point range.

Rezlife Saints enter this round with confidence after that first-round win and remain one of the strongest sides in the league. They also carry a major threat through Edrine Ekau, the league’s leading scorer, who has been outstanding throughout the season.

Ekau leads the scoring charts with 206 points, alongside 4.5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.1 steals. He has scored in double figures in 10 of 11 games, making him one of the most consistent performers in the league.

Saints will also meet UCU Canons in Mukono, making both teams well tested before their Sunday clash.

In other men’s games on Sunday, UPDF Tomahawks will meet Kampala Rockets, with UPDF having 3 wins and Rockets 2 wins. UMU Flames will face off with JKL Dolphins Men, with both teams on 2 wins each in a battle to move away from the bottom.

In the women’s games Pearl Queens will face off with Magic Stormers in a balanced contest. UCU Lady Canons will play against UPDF Lady Tomahawks, Lady Canons are leading the table with 10 wins while UPDF chase a top-four place.

On Saturday in Mukono, JKL Lady Dolphins will encounter KIU Rangers, with JKL on 8 wins and KIU on 4 wins. Angels will meet Miracle Eaglets. UPDF Lady Tomahawks will face off with Nabisunsa Girls.

The league will be played across several venues including Lugogo Indoor Arena, UCU Mukono, Abja Park Naalya, Rezlife Lubowa, YMCA Wandegeya, Jaguars Den Kira, Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, and Hoima Stadium Arena. Hoima will host National Basketball League games for the first time from May 22 to 24 and will also stage the FIBA AfroBasket U18 Zone V Qualifiers in June.
