Busoga United FC's young flying left winger Laban Tibiita was left frustrated after he fired wide a would-be match-winning penalty against neighbours BUL FC in Friday's battling Jinja derby held at Kakindu Stadium.

It was the visitors who took the lead with a well-taken penalty from Ibrahim Kazindula after 24 minutes.

But Tibiita leveled matters from the second penalty of the day after 52 minutes to make it 1-1.

But after Peter Onzima was brought down in the box 10 minutes later, Tibiita then came and blew his effort wide to the disappointment of the home fans who had rallied their side.

"We could have won it but we settled for a draw against a team that lost confidence in winning league matches. But we must continue to battle for more points that will keep us in the league," said Busoga United FC coach Vincent Lukyamuzi.

"We need to gradually come back as a team though we must say that we were happy to rescue this away point that we can use to build on the next league matches," said Dan Kabbale BUL FC assistant coach.

Busoga United FC climbed to 12th place with 23 points while BUL FC stayed in fifth with 31 points from both 22 league matches.
