He also cautioned fans against the negative practice of abusing or disrespecting sports leaders, urging them instead to embrace unity and respect.

Bulemeezi FC Chairman of Fans, Mwanje Geoffrey, said the club will forever miss Nakijoba’s selfless support, while Alex Mulondo, speaking on behalf of fans, described her as an irreplaceable pillar of the team. The burial service was led by Fr. Ambrose Ggombya, Assistant Parish Priest of Mulajje Parish in Kasana–Luweero Diocese, who prayed that God rewards Nakijoba for her good works on earth.

Born in 1987 to the late Ssaalongo Obadiah Ssemakula, Lydia Nakijoba, fondly known as “Obadiah,” passed away at the age of 39 due to severe stomach complications following surgery for uterine fibroids. She worked as a Laboratory Technician at Busitema University in Eastern Uganda and graduated with honours degrees from both Kyambogo University and Mbarara University.

Nakijoba is survived by relatives and her foster family of 17 children. The Kangaawo of Bulemeezi County and the Ssekiboobo of Kyaggwe County were among the dignitaries represented at the burial.
