Buddo SS and St Mary’s College Rushoroza will meet in the final of the basketball 3x3 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Elite Schools championship at Mbarara High School on Saturday morning, to determine who becomes the champions.

The national and FEASSSA champions won both games in both boys and girls of a three-day event category that saw only two teams turn up to compete for this newly included discipline and the tournament officials decided to have them play a final for a winner.

In a home and away format for the competing teams, Buddo boys beat improving St Mary’s College Rushoroza 20-14 and 19-15 for the boys’ accolade while the girls beat the same side from Kabale 18-6 and 21-6 for the accolade that they will be handed tomorrow Saturday at the official awarding ceremony.

This was Buddo’s timely build-up as they prepare to represent Uganda at the coming Africa Schools basketball Championship in Casablanca, Morocco between 26 February-2nd March.

In netball, Buddo SS recorded two wins after defeating Kawempe Moslem 41-36 and beating Boni Consilii 35-10.

In volleyball, Buremba SS beat national champions Standard High 3-2 and St Jerome beat hosts Mbarara High 32 while in the girls' category, national winners St Elizabeth who are yet to lose a game, beath Katikamu 3-0 and Katikamu beat Boni Consilii 3-1.

In girls' football, Sacred Heart Gulu beat Shuuku Vocational 3-1 and Sheema Girls defeated Ishaka 1-0 while in the boys’ category, Ryakasinga beat Jinja SS 2-0, Westville beat hosts Mbarara High 5-0 while Kawempe Moslem drew 1-1 with Dynamic.

The games will end Saturday with the finals in girl's and boys’ football and the official closing and awarding ceremony.
