Battle for top honours as KV Pool Championship breaks off in Masaka

The three-day tournament, which runs from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, features both men and women competing in two categories—top shooters and promising players.

The battle for top honours and cash prizes breaks off this morning in Masaka, as 64 participants cue off in the second edition of the KV Pool Championship.

The three-day tournament, which runs from Friday, July 4 to Sunday, features both men and women competing in two categories—Top Shooters and Promising Players. Winners in both categories will walk away with sh2 million, while the women's champion will take home sh1 million.

Defending champion William Mirembe, popularly known as Bebe, faces stiff competition from emerging stars including Juma Brown, Eia Kimuli, Ivan Kafuleka, and Ivan Senyonjo.

Tournament director Vicent Kimera says all is set for an exciting showdown.
“We are ready. All prizes are secured, and we are now waiting for the players to deliver entertaining, high-quality pool action,” said Kimera, a former Pool Association of Uganda coordinator.

In each category, the winner will receive UGX 2 million, the runner-up sh1 million, and third place sh500,000.
