Aahil Bagalana will be looking to solidify his position at the top of his age group as the 2025 US Kids Golf Series championship continues at the Uganda Golf Club, Kitante, on Monday.

The Harmony International School year-one pupil currently leads his age group with two first-place finishes and one second-place finish in the first season of the year. Heading into Monday’s action, Bagalana is fresh off a victory at the Entebbe leg, where he carded a gross score of 38 over nine holes, finishing ahead of Nehemiah Matsiko, who scored 48.

Earlier this season, Bagalana returned 41 strokes in Entebbe in early January, followed by a 52 gross at the Uganda Golf Club leg later in the month. He then led the field with a score of 46 at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Course in February. With 140 points, he now holds a 70-point lead over Matsiko in the standings.

The seven-year-olds category features Ezra Kasirye Kabenge, Humuza Buka, Timothy Samuel Tayebwa Rubandamayonza, and Jathan Musiime Muzahura, while Varad Mahendra Godse, Aleksander Sequeira, Austin Abraham Abaho, and Karl Eugene Akimanzi are among the eight-year-olds competing.

In the girls' categories, Elizabeth Mwagale, Mirembe Katende, Jenny Tumwesigye, Mulungi Katende, Ethel Nsiima Muzahura, and Jamilah Namara are battling for honors. The 8-9 years category includes Harsshitha Loganathan, Eseza Kemigisa, Natalie Kagole, and national junior team players Winnie Musuya and Mercy Ssebagala.

In the ten-year-old category, Lucas Kimara, Mohammadaaban Tanweer, Jethroe Mugisha Muzahura, and Nigel Yoash Ssemambo will compete for top honors. Meanwhile, 11-year-old Ethan Kavuma Kabenge and 12-year-old Jordan Van Rooyen will face off over 18 holes.

Other participants playing 18 holes include Sean Kusasira Nsereko, Calvin Jeemy Nasaaba, Abisha Miracle Namanya, King Walter Ayebare, Shashank Sachin Gadre, Anthony Otokei, Peter Mayende, Gavin Bwambale, and Cedric Masaaba.

The US Kids Golf Series, sponsored by NCBA Bank, aims to help children enjoy the game of golf while learning valuable skills. The event also encourages family interaction, creating lasting memories. Tailored for junior golfers aged 5 to 18, the series features multi-day tournaments and skill-enhancing camps at various golf clubs and courses across Uganda.
