The 20th Edition of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games officially kicked off today, Friday, December 19, 2025, at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono.
Basketball action highlighted the opening day, with the hosts UCU putting on a dominant display. In the men’s category, UCU defeated Makerere University 67–55 in an exciting and entertaining contest. The women’s team was even more ruthless, thrashing Kyambogo University 86–20.
Elsewhere, Kampala University edged Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 67–53 in another thrilling encounter.
Kampala University coach Dickson Nyero expressed delight at securing victory in his debut outing. “I’m happy we won. This was sweet revenge for us, and the win is a big step forward as we look to progress through the group stages,” Nyero said.
