Arsenal fans across Uganda poured into the streets on Sunday in jubilant celebrations as the club prepared to finally lift the Premier League trophy after ending a 22-year wait for the title earlier this week.
From Wakiso to Kamuli, supporters dressed in red and white jerseys waved flags, blew vuvuzelas and sang club songs as excitement swept through towns and trading centres. Others organised and thronged churches while decked in the club's colours to give thanks during Sunday prayers.

In Wakiso district, celebrations started as early as 9:00 am, with fans marching through roads including Buloba-Wakiso, Matugga-Wakiso, Namusera-Wakiso, Kakiri-Wakiso, Lukwanga Road and Nkoowe. Motorcycles, cars and processions filled the streets as supporters danced and cheered the long-awaited triumph.
The celebrations later converged at Kavumba Recreation Centre, where fans gathered to symbolically lift a trophy as music and chants echoed throughout the area. Many supporters described the moment as unforgettable after years of waiting for league success.
In Kamuli town, the celebrations took on a festive community feel as supporters paraded through the streets carrying a live goat, drawing cheers and laughter from residents who lined up to watch the procession.

Kamuli district Arsenal fans coordinator Moses Byenguye said the goat was part of a larger celebration organised for fans in the district. He revealed that six other goats were slaughtered at Kamuli playground before the meat was shared among supporters in a muchomo feast.
Across the country, the mood remained one of excitement, pride and relief as Arsenal supporters embraced a moment many had waited decades to witness.
Entertainment venues are expected to be packed later in the day as supporters prepare to watch the official trophy presentation at Selhurst Park, where Arsenal make the short trip to face Crystal Palace.
