Ainamani, Gaita eye Sunshine Tour glory after impressing in Limuru

Ugandan professional golfers Abraham Ainamani and Rodell Gaita continued to advance their careers after making the cut at the SunDev Betika Masters during the Sunshine Development Golf Tour's eighth round at Limuru Golf Club on November 11, 2025.

Ainamani finished fifth, earning sh2.2m and 65.78 SunDev Order of Merit points, while Gaita secured sh0.8m and 25.35 points after a joint 19th-place finish.

The Ugandan pair were among six golfers representing Uganda in the sh55 million prize event, which attracted 82 participants. Only 30 players, including Ainamani and Gaita, earned prize money.

Grace Kasango, Phillip Kasozi, Ronald Otile, and Hussein Bagalana failed to make the cut, alongside 50 other competitors from Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

The 54-hole tournament was won by Muthaiga Golf Club professional Greg Snow, who edged out Njoroge Kibugu by three strokes.

Snow posted an overall score of 10-under-par 206, while Njoroge finished with 209. Rwandan Celestine Nsanzuwera came third with 210, while Kenyans Jastas Madoya Asena and C.J. Wangai placed fourth and fifth with scores of 214 and 215, respectively.

East African golfers will now prepare for the tenth round at Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi County, from December 16–18, where they will compete not only for prize money but also for Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points and Safari Tour Order of Merit points—crucial for qualification into the 2026 Magical Kenya Open on the DP World Tour.

After the Vipingo leg, the tour will conclude in January 2026 at Karen Country Club, where East Africa’s top 30 players will compete against South Africa’s Big Easy Tour’s top 30 for promotion to the main Sunshine Tour.
