Absa KH3-7 Hills Run route for 2026 revealed

This was announced by David Wandera, Managing Director of Absa Bank Uganda, at the launch of this year’s route maps in Kampala.

The top two men and women who finish all seven hills in the fourth Absa Kampala Hash Harriers 7 Hills Run on April 26 will qualify for the Absa Black Stars Marathon in Accra, Ghana. 

 


This was announced by David Wandera, Managing Director of Absa Bank Uganda, at the launch of this year’s route maps in Kampala. There are three races this year—5km, 10km, and 25km—all starting at Millennium Grounds, Lugogo. 

 


The courses take runners through some of Kampala's toughest and most famous areas. Wandera said, "This year we have three routes, which are the 5km, 10km, and 25km. We have also raised the competitive stakes for this year’s edition. The top two male and top two female finishers who complete all seven hills will earn slots to participate in the Absa Black Stars Marathon in Accra, Ghana. Additionally, the top male and top female runners will each receive a land title from Bakayima, making 2026 the most rewarding edition yet.” 


The 5km race goes along Naguru Road, Estate Road, Katalima Road, Katalima Crescent, Lower Naguru Estate Road, Naguru Vale Road, Naguru Drive, Nyonyintono Road, and Katale Road to Naggulu Avenue, then back to Millennium Grounds. Water points are at Naguru Estate Road and Naguru Drive. The 10km route covers Naguru Estate Road, Katalima Road, Ntinda II Road, Ntinda Road, Semawata Road, Bukoto-Ntinda Road, Kimera Road, back to Ntinda II Road, and Mvule Lane. 

 


It continues through Upper Naguru Road, Ntinda View Crescent, Lower Naguru Road, Naguru Estate Road, Naguru Vale Road, Naguru Drive Road, and Katale Road, then to Naggulu Avenue, Shoprite Road, and the finish line. Water points are at the start, Katalima Road (Naguru), Mvule Lane, and Naguru Drive Road.

 

The main 25km race is a city-wide challenge, passing through Naguru Road, Lugogo By-pass, Roscoe Road, Impala Avenue, Upper Kololo Terrace, Elgon Terrace, and Acacia Avenue. Runners then cross to Kafu Road, climb Akii Bua Road, and go over Nakasero Hill Road, Kyagwe Road, Rashid Khamis Road, Ginnery Road, Old Kampala Road, and Namirembe Road. 

 


The route continues on Willis Road, Centenary Road, Cathedral Hill Road, Albert Cook Road, Mutesa I Road, St. Lawrence University Lane, Lubiri Ring Road, Mengo Hill Road, and Nsambya Road via Nsambya Estate Road to Tank Hill Road. From there, runners take Kikuba Mutwe, Kibuli Road, Press House Road, Mukwano Road, and Access Road to Jinja Road, then Wampewo Avenue, Roscoe Road, Lugogo Bypass, and Rotary Avenue back to Millennium Grounds.

 

 

Water points are at the start, Nakasero Hill Road, Ginnery Road, Willis Road, Mutesa I Road, Lubiri Ring Road, and Nsambya Road. Money raised from the 2026 Absa KH3 – 7 Hills Run will support partner organisations that help keep girls in school and remove barriers to their education. 

 


Beneficiaries include Baylor College of Medicine's Dreams Programme, Amref Health Africa, Windle International Uganda, World Vision Uganda, Nyaka AIDS Orphan Project, Katalemwa Cheshire Home, and Smart Girls Uganda. These partnerships ensure every shilling raised has a real impact on girls across Uganda. Registration is open, with an Ordinary Kit at sh35,000, Timed Kit at sh45,000, and VIP Kit at sh150,000 for corporate teams.
