Coach Abdallah Mubiru has vowed to take KCCA to the promised land.

"I know, I have come to a time where I need to try to see that the team gets back to its glory days. I’m going to try my best with the support of my technical team and players to see that the team regains its supremacy,” noted Mubiru.

Mubiru revealed this after being unveiled by KCCA on Tuesday at Lugogo on a two-year deal by Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago alongside club chairman Eng. Andrew Sserunjogi Mukiibi.

Mubiru is also a former KCCA player who featured for the club in the 90s.

Mubiru has previously coached Police FC, Proline FC, Vipers SC, Mbeya City FC, and Uganda Cranes.

Lukwago has cautioned Mubiru to make sure that teams get back to their winning mentality.

“Getting KCCA FC out of relegation should not be something to celebrate about. KCCA is too big to celebrate positions. I want to hear that KCCA came from relegation and went on to win the title. We also have to stick to our style of play," noted Lukwago.

Mubiru will work with Kefa Kisala and Jackson Magero, Moses Oloya (goalkeeper coach), and Saka Mpiima (junior team head coach) as part of his technical team.  Magero was the interim coach after Traguil’s departure and he was in charge of three games where he won and drew once then he lost their other game.

Club chairman Sserunjogi said they chose Mubiru because he fits in the team’s identity.

“The identity of the club is what we first considered before we appointed Mubiru. We didn’t want to look at a coach who would fix the club, rather we appointed someone who fits in the team. Mubiru understands the direction of the team. He is going to help us build a team,” noted Sserunjogi.

KCCA has gone four consecutive without winning any trophy and if they don’t improve they might even go into their fifth season.
