Over 50 schools from 10 districts in the Rwenzori region are converging at Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational School for the Rwenzori Zone Zonal Games.

32 teams of boys and 27 teams of girls are set to participate.

According to Agaba Joshua, chairperson of the Rwenzori region, the screening process has been smooth, with teams arriving safely.

“So far, the screening went on well, and we expect good and peaceful zonal games,” he said.

In the boys' football category, teams have been divided into 8 groups, each vying for the five coveted slots allocated to this zone.

Group A consists of Kamwenge VOC, Christ School-Bundibugyo, HillSide SS-Kasese, and St Peters-Kyegegwa.

Group B features Fortport SS, Nyahuka Parents, and Fr Kanyonza Mashooro SS.

Group C is made up of Kyabenda SS, Simuliki High, St Elizabeth Yerya, St Andrew's SS-Kitangwenda, and Kasese Moslem.

Group D consists of Mpanga Parents, Tooro Royal College, Garama SS, and Kakabara.

 Group E features Rwamwanja SS, Ave Maria Nyamiriima , and Nyambani SS.
Group F is made up of St Leo's College Kyegobe, Kyarusonzi SS, Kibiito SS, and Nyakasenyi SSS.

Group G consists of Mpanga SSS-Fortportal, Kyenjojo Integrated, Divine Mercy SS, and Karugutu SS.

Finally, Group H features Nyakasura School, Murambagira Secondary school from Bundibugyo, Kasese Secondary, Albert Valley, and Ntoroko.

The girls' category has also been divided into 8 groups, featuring top schools from the region. 

Group A consists of Kamwenge Sec and Vocational School, Kicwamba Secondary School, Buhessi Secondary School, and Rwamanja Secondary.

Group B features Moons Vocational, St. Mary's Simbya, and Nurikunyu Secondary.

Group C is made up of City Hall Secondary School, Katooke Modern, and St Joseph's.

Group D consists of St Maria Gorret, Tooro Royal, and Rugarama Secondary School.

Group E features Mpanga Senior Secondary School, Ave Maria, and Kasese Secondary School.

Group F is made up of Bwizi Secondary School, Christ School, Nyakasenyi Secondary School, and Karugutu Secondary School.

Group G consists of King of Kings, Hapuyo Seed School, and Kibiito Secondary School.

Finally, Group H features Devine Mercy Secondary School, Humura Secondary School, Father Kanyonro School, and Kyabenda Secondary School.
