The 2025 CECAFA Kagame Cup is officially set to run from September 2 to 15 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, bringing together 12 elite clubs from East and Central Africa.
Slated to begin just two days after the conclusion of CHAN 2024, the tournament serves as a vital springboard for teams preparing for the upcoming CAF interclub season.
Uganda’s Vipers SC will represent the country, hoping to emulate the successes of past Ugandan champions such as KCCA FC, SC Villa, Police FC, and Express FC. Other confirmed participants include El Merriekh SC Bentiu from South Sudan, Mlandege SC from Zanzibar, Al Hilal of Sudan, Kenya Police FC, Ethiopia Insurance, MCC FC from Somalia, APR FC of Rwanda, Aigle Noir FC from Burundi, Young Africans SC and Simba SC from Tanzania, and ASAS Djibouti Telecom.
With backing from Rwandan President Paul Kagame and a prize purse of $60,000, this year’s Kagame Cup promises intense competition and high stakes. If you'd like a tailored preview piece or Twitter rollout highlighting Vipers SC’s campaign, I’m ready when you are.
