According to the ICT minister, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the intervention aims at making digital devices cheaper to increase internet use in Uganda.

KAMPALA - The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance is pushing for a tax waiver on smartphones as a way to boost internet penetration in the public.
This was revealed by the ICT minister, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi while making a case for the sector budget estimates for the financial year 2024/2025.
The intervention aims at making digital devices cheaper to increase internet use in Uganda.
