 GREEN SCHOOLS PROJECTS

Dr Emmanuel Zziwa is the national team lead for the climate change programme for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

He says the Green Schools Initiative has "contributed so much in the change of knowledge, attitudes and practices from the school administrations to the learners and also in the communities around some schools have been positively influenced and there is a positive change in, for example, how schools are managing waste".

In the footage below, Zziwa offers an insight into the Green Schools Initiative, a project started in schools in 2023 to encourage young minds to act on climate change through adaptation or mitigation solutions.
