BRUXELLES - Hemiplegic from birth and visually impaired, Lydie Imhoff, a 43-year-old Frenchwoman, was gradually losing the use of her limbs. This situation prompted her to initiate euthanasia in Belgium in March 2023. AFP, already present for her interview with a psychiatrist in Brussels, whom she consulted about this decision and gave the go-ahead, was able to accompany her again, right up to her final moments.
