Basongora revive demands for cultural, land rights
Predominantly found in Kasese district and parts of eastern DR Congo, the Basongora are a minority group in Uganda, with an estimated population of 50,000. They speak Rusongora, a language closely related to Runyankore and Rutoro.

The Basongora ethnic community in western Uganda has once again reached out to President Yoweri Museveni seeking urgent intervention in addressing their long-standing concerns.
Their demands are centred on
