Two arrested over missing Soroti-based Egyptian businessman

A day after an Egyptian businessman based in Soroti city disappeared at his residence, the Police arrested two people.

Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, 32, a businessman dealing in kitchenware in Soroti City, went missing on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his residence in Camp Swahili Cell A, Camp Swahili Ward, Soroti City West Division.

The Police spokesman for Kyoga East region, Oscar Ageca, confirmed the arrests to New Vision.

They are Muhammed Nabil Ali who visited and was seen with the victim on the night of the disappearance, and Mark Kisolo who was an employee of the victim and accessed the house the night of and after the disappearance. 

“More information shall be availed as dictated by the investigative process,” Ageca said in a statement.

Police on Sunday opened a case of disappearance that was registered at Soroti City East Division vide SD Ref 02/25/02/2024.

The matter of Zinhom's disappearance has raised eyebrows among the people in the city as well as security organs.

The Police have not yet established the motive of Zinhom’s disappearance, but they are promising to do their part as investigations continue.
