The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has expressed sorrow at the passing on of Parliament principal clerk John Bosco Kagoro.

Tayebwa said the deceased passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, after a short illness.

"I had the privilege of working closely with him as the clerk for the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS)-European Union (EU) where I led a delegation. He played a crucial role in my election as a bureau member at the last conference in Luanda, Angola," Tayebwa said.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, the Speaker Anita Among, and all the staff of Parliament. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.

Journalists who worked with him in Parliament expressed shock at the passing of Kagoro.

They described him as having been gentle, polite, friendly and kind.

“He had a sense of humour. He was always jolly and found something to laugh about or crack a joke. He treated us like brothers and sisters. We shall miss him. May his soul rest in peace,” a journalist and a member of the Uganda Parliamentary Press Association, said.
