Behind locked doors, the National Unity Platform (NUP) party on Wednesday, June 11, held its third delegates conference.
The events took place at the NUP school of leadership in Kamwokya, Kampala city suburbs.
About 127 delegates were summoned to attend a restricted delegates conference to iron out controversial issues that have marred the party since its formation.

Insiders reported the agenda defections of the original founders of the party, who formed other rival parties.
Recently, Mathias Mpuuga MP Nyendo - Mukungwe, former Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, declared his exit to form the Democratic Alliance, where he is the National Coordinator.

According to one MP who preferred anonymity, the Busiro East MP, Medard Ssegona, factor was also discussed after he publicly declared that he would seek NUP presidency after Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Another source last evening stated that voting of party delegates was underway for suitable persons for elective positions under the NUP flag.
Key positions were reportedly ring-fenced for senior party founders who were declared unopposed.
By press time, the party had not issued any public statement about the events.
