David Kasanga Kyetume, former assistant commissioner in the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in charge of information monitoring and secretary to the Media Council of Uganda, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Masindi district LCV chairperson on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
He made the announcement on May 16, 2025, during a press briefing at his office in Katama cell, Central Division, Masindi Municipality.
Kyetume revealed that in September last year, he applied for early retirement from civil service, which was officially granted in April this year.
He pledged that, if elected, he would promote open government and governance to ensure all citizens benefit from government programmes.
He also promised to prioritise good human resource management and initiatives for increasing household income.
Kyetume added that he would ensure vulnerable groups—including the elderly, youth, and women—benefit from government services.
He becomes the third person to express interest in the LCV chairmanship on the NRM ticket, joining district speaker Moses Kirya and former procurement officer Godfrey Byarugaba in the race.
