KAMPALA - Gen. Moses Ali has been nominated by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to seek another parliamentary term in 2026.

Gen (retired) Ali, the second deputy prime minister and deputy leader of government business in parliament, is also the current elected Member of Parliament for East Moyo County in Adjumani district since 2011.

He was nominated by NRM party electoral body chairperson, Dr Tanga Odoi, from his car due to his ill health, meaning he will stand for his current seat in the coming elections.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, was also nominated, and he was accompanied by his wife. Other notable dignitaries who were nominated were internal affairs minister Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, among others.

Today's nominations came a day after Speaker of Parliament Antia Among (Bukedea Woman MP) and information minister Chris Baryomunsi (Kikinzi East MP) were also nominated to contest for MP party flag in the party primaries, joining Vice-President Jessica Alupo, security minister Jim Muhwezi and ethics state minister Lilly Akello, who were nominated last week.

Below is a picture highlight how several NRM cadres were nominated today, including several ministers, all photos by Simon Peter Tumwine;
