Voting for National Resistance Movement (NRM) LCI flagbearers and party village structures in four cells where voting was halted on Tuesday in Hoima City was successfully concluded on Wednesday.

The cells are Bubaale North, Busiisi East, Buswekera South and Kasingo.

Sarah Kobusinge, the Hoima City NRM registrar, said the elections were concluded successfully with the help of the Police, who helped in ensuring order at the polling stations.

She further appealed to all party members to ensure that they embrace party activities like updating the register to avoid scenarios of failing to vote.

At some polling stations, some people did not vote because their names were not in the registers.

At Kasingo polling station, Osborn Nsiimire won the polls with 113 votes, beating challengers Patrick Busobozi (60 votes) and Frank Monday (four votes).

Grace Kiiza Katusabe won the cell women league chairperson race with 60 votes, edging Rosemary Nnaruvuma, who got 50 votes.

Most of the village elections were conducted on the scheduled Tuesday as the ruling party, led by national chairman President Yoweri Museveni, prepares for the 2026 general election.
