National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates vying for the various positions in Kitgum district are holding joint campaigns ahead of party primaries despite a lack of funds from the party headquarters.
The lack of funds has hindered the planned joint campaigns in most parts of the country, prompting candidates to go for individual vote hunts.
However, in Kitgum, candidates contributed resources to hold the campaigns, according to NRM district registrar Cyrus Odongkene.
Meanwhile, Gulu District’s case is not far from Kitgum’s.
George Ebola, the NRM Registrar for Gulu District, revealed that their candidates are holding joint campaigns but without using the public address system.
In Gulu City, candidates are engaged in individual campaigns.
David Nyeko, the Gulu City NRM Registrar, said they will hold a dialogue today where they will borrow a leaf from either Kitgum or Gulu District.
The joint campaigns that commenced on July 1, 2025, shall run up to July 16, 2025, which is the eve of the primary elections.
