Barely days after launching a ‘Say No to Violence’ campaign and ‘Stage Ku Stage’, mobilisation drive in Kampala city, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has again come up with what the party is calling a new Political-game-changer-strategy dubbed ‘DIPO KU DIPO’ task force.

While officiating the drive on December 23, 2025, at Calendar Bar in Kampala city's Makindye division, Maj. Emmanuel Kuteesa, who is in charge mobilisation in Kampala, reiterated that NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni is more than committed to instil new breath in the lives of the vulnerable ghetto groups throughout the country, starting with Kampala, Mukono, and Wakiso.

“Actually, we came up with the DIPO KU DIPO slogan because it commensurate very well with the Ghetto community language,” adding that, “The programme was initiated by Maj. Gen. Christopher Damulira and with close supervision of State house Comptroller Jane Barekye.

“We thank President Museveni, for the guidance and financial support extended towards the Ghetto youths’ especially those who formed up different saving groups (SACCOs), So far, the president has injected in them about shillings 1.2 billion, while others are beneficiaries of other government programs including; the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, among others,” he said.

Besides Makindye division that is comprised of Makindye West and East Constituency, and Makindye Ssaabagabo respectively, Kuteesa noted that they also intend to rotate the ‘Depot Ku Depot’ launches depending on the group categorization, in other areas including; Mukono, Kira and Nakawa, Kawempe North, South and Kasangati, Nansana-Kampala Central and Rubaga Division respectively.

He, however, cautioned the Ghetto members to desist from committing any crime since they are now ambassadors of peace in the country.

“Actually, we do not want to hear that any of the members has been arrested by security because we expect every one of you to be exemplary in terms of discipline.”

Ddamulira, who is also the Uganda Police's Director of Crime Intelligence, told New Vision Online that their engagement with the ghetto youths aims at empowering them economically and socially and politically.

“In this political season, we are mentoring them to remain focused and to reject political manipulation that may ruin our country’s peace,” he said.

NRM flag-bearer for the Makindye West Constituency Member of Parliament seat Doreen Keita Kagabi also turned up at the launch and appealed to the ghetto members to turn up in big numbers and vote for her, and other party flag bearers, on the D-day.

“You are our hope, prepare your voters’ cards ready to take part in the coming general elections, so that you select leaders of your choice, and also ensure that no one disrupts our victory as NRM,” Keita said.

National ghetto youth co-ordinator Shafik Kalyango for Makindye division and Ssaabagabo, they have over 1,800 Ghetto group leaders who are expected to mobilise other members to gunner support for NRM. "We all pay allegiance to the President because he has really uplifted our voice through people like Damulira, Maj. Kuteesa and Barekye. We also vow not to let him down in the coming elections," said Kalyango.
