Museveni says looking forward to working with newly sworn-in Suluhu

President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated Samia Suluhu Hassan and the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party on her re-election as President of Tanzania. Museveni, who skipped Suluhu's swearing-in ceremony today, November 3, 2025, but represented by Vice-President Jessica Alupo, promised to strengthen the bond between Uganda and Tanzania.

Ahead of her arrival for the inauguration, state TV showed officials and foreign dignitaries, including Uganda's Vice-President Jessica Alupo, in stands overlooking parade grounds in State House in the capital Dodoma. Earlier, the broadcaster said the public would not attend.
"Uganda and Tanzania share historic bonds of friendship and cooperation".
"I look forward to working with President Samia to further strengthen our partnership in trade, infrastructure, and regional integration for the peace and prosperity of our peoples," the President posted on his social media handle.
