After picking nomination forms, Museveni said it was the right time for him to offer himself to the party as its chairperson again.
"I thank the NRM fraternity because whenever I have been going upcountry for PDM, everywhere in public meetings, there have been resolutions passed, and petitions signed requesting me to offer myself to be the chairman of the NRM again," the President said.
President Museveni also promised to fight corruption in the coming term if Ugandans re-elect him, saying, " I want us really to wipe out corruption because this corruption should not be there because we are in charge."
