Over 600,000 youths under the Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK) Youth Initiative have unveiled a parish-based grassroots mobilisation strategy, anchored on direct contact with village leaders to strengthen deployment of voters ahead of preparations for the 2026 General Election.
The strategy is expected to aid in garnering support for NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni.
Speaking to the media at the MK Youth Initiative at Kampala Centre, on December 15, 2025, MK task force national chairperson Abubakari Ayende said the initiative will emphasise door-to-door engagement and person-to-person persuasion methods to secure a decisive victory for Museveni.

“This task force will help us identify weaknesses, strengthen our networks, and rally supporters behind the party’s presidential flagbearer. We cannot afford the same mistakes we made in the last election cycle,” he said.
He added that the mobilisation effort will span all regions of the country ahead of the election period.
Ayende said the NRM has been moving steadily since the launch of President Museveni’s campaign trail and expressed gratitude to communities where President Museveni has held rallies.
We are interacting with youth leaders at every level. Leaders meet at the parish and receive a direct message from the Patron Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, including guidance on how to conduct door–to–door campaigns.
