KAMPALA - The Deputy Prime Minister and long-serving Busoga political matriarch, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, has reaffirmed her loyalty to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Yoweri Museveni.
At a Thanksgiving ceremony last Thursday in Jinja and Kamuli, Kadaga vowed not to abandon the movement despite political setbacks.

On Tuesday, Kadaga’s political strength was on full display as over thousands of supporters escorted her to Kampala, where President Museveni was nominated as the NRM presidential candidate.

Speaking following the nomination of President Museveni, Kadaga said today is not just about individuals but about the party.
“As NRM, we walk in unity, and together we will deliver victory. I call upon the people of Busoga to rally behind the NRM in the upcoming elections,” she said.
Kadaga also urged the youth, women, and community leaders of Busoga to mobilise strongly for the 2026 elections.
