Brian Kaboyo, the current mayor of Hoima City, has been elected as the NRM flag bearer.

On Thursday evening, Sarah Kobusinge, the Hoima City NRM registrar, declared Kaboyo, who won with 8243- 56%.

The Hoima City speaker, Edward Isingoma got 5392-37%, while Mustafa Kahuma got 873-6%.

However, the polling process was marred by low turn-up in many polling stations.

At Bank cell in Central Division, out of the 144 registered voters, only seven turned up, according to Norman Ntaro, the LC1 chairperson.

"The turn-up was very low and this delayed the exercise, however, the exercise was peaceful, we didn't register any case of violence," he said.

Kaboyo appreciated the people of Hoima for entrusting him with the NRM flag and called for teamwork with other leaders.

"I am happy that the people of Hoima have again entrusted me with the party flag. We need to work together as a team and ensure that we move Hoima City to a greater level," he said.
