KAMPALA - Immediately after his nomination for Uganda's presidency today by the Electoral Commission (EC), Nandala Mafabi has promised to tackle poverty and revive Uganda's economy.
Mafabi, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag-bearer in the 2026 General Election presidential race, made the remarks before the press, shortly after his nomination by the EC at Lweza in Wakiso district.
"Right now, the internet is cheap, but in Uganda, it is very expensive. We need to make data cheaper because now transactions are easily done online; why should data be expensive? Mafabi remarked shortly after his nomination.
Nandala's nomination comes a day after Joseph Male, Robert Kaisbante, President Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance (NRM), and Gregory Mugisha Muntu of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), who was later nominated today.
Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama congratulated Nandala and said he arrived as a presidential aspirant and that he left the premises as a candidate. (Mpalanyi Ssentongo captured the picture highlights)
