MPS SWEARING-IN CEREMONY
The final set of members of Uganda's 12th Parliament were Friday sworn in on the third and final day of the ceremony in Kampala.
A total 175 legislators, accompanied by ther loved ones, took the oath of office on the day.
Composed of 529 legislators, the sworn-in MPs will next convene on May 25 to elect the Speaker of Parliament and Deputy Speaker.

Hoima City Woman Member of Parliament Asinansi Nyakato, also known as Kamanda, has taken oath.

Annet Oyes Nnamara Byamukama, the NRM Woman Member of Parliament for Buhweju district, has taken oath.

Gomba district Woman Member of Parliament Sylvia Nayebale, swearing in for her third term. The NRM legislator was first elected to the same seat in the 10th Parliament (2016 to 2021). She was re-elected in 2021 in the same position and now returned for her third term.

National Unity Platform's (NUP) Muwada Nkunyingi has been sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District.

Independent Kotido District Woman Member of Parliament, Nuria Hasfa Teko, has been sworn in. The Legislator beat NRM's incumbent Margret Aleper Achila, to attain the seat.

Kyotera District Woman Member of Parliament, Fortunate Nantongo, takes oath.

Elgon North County in Bulambuli District Member of Parliament Gerald Nangoli has taken oath.

Bukono County MP Persis Namuganza, also the lands state minister, has taken oath.

National Unity Platform's (NUP) Masaka District Woman MP, Joan Namutaawe, has successfully been sworn in.

NRM's Fredrick Ruhindi has taken oath as MP for Nakawa Division East in Kampala.

Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwashande, the Lwemiyaga Constituency Member of Parliament, has taken oath.

Richard Sebamala, the Member of Parliament representing Bukoto Central constituency, has been sworn in.

Phiona Nyamutoro, a former National Female Youth Member of Parliament in the 11th Parliament, also State Minister for Minerals in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals Development, has been sworn in as the Nebbi district Woman Member of Parliament alongside her husband, Eddie Kenzo.
