Chief Justice Alfonse C. Owiny-Dollo has held a meeting with United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) Resident Representative for Uganda Nwanne Vwede-Obahor.

The Friday, May 3, 2024, meeting was held at the chief justice's Kampala residence and was attended by justice minister Norbert Mao, UNDP deputy resident representative for Uganda Sheila Ngatia.

They were joined by Alfred Okot Okidi, the permanent secretary water ministry and Judiciary technical advisor Prof. Andrew Khaukha.

“It was an insightful evening as we discussed different issues affecting the administration of justice,” Owiny-Dollo said.

Vwede-Obahor in her position she represents, leads and is accountable for harnessing and directing the full potential of UNDP's capabilities and associated partnerships, in support of national development goals and strategies in Uganda.

Prior to this, Vwede-Obahor served as the director programme and team leader of the implementation support unit of the UN Integrated Strategy for the Sahel (UNISS) in the Office of the UN special co-ordinator for development in the Sahel. She has also served as the regional representative for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for East Africa, as well as the OHCHR representative to the African Union and UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
