Members of Wakaliga Veterans' Market have been urged to reconcile and come up with workable methods that will smoothen the workflow of their association.

Director Veteran Affairs Brigadier General (Rtd) Emmanuel Musingunzi made the call during an inspection tour aimed at finding a lasting solution for Wakaliga Veterans’ Market Vendors squabbles.

The tour also aimed at querrying the root causes of a long-standing conflict that has been associated with the Mustard Seed Veterans’ Association (MUVA) so that the directorate can now come out with a permanent workable solution.

Musinguzi called for total reconciliation and reorganisation among the members so that they can be able to tap from government funding for future developments that will help them fight poverty.

According to a statement released by deputy army spokesperson Col. Deo Akiiki on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Musinguzi encouraged the veterans' leadership to streamline all leadership folds and strive for mindset change for better service delivery by considering inclusiveness of all members regardless of rank at retirement.

He pledged that as long as the leadership problem is sorted amicably, he will lead them to the defence minister and Commander-in-Chief so that their market is developed like others under the local government ministry.

He called upon the members to share experiences and brainstorm ideas, for their leadership to know how to tackle veterans' problems better.

MUVA chairperson WOII (Rtd) Bwambizo Benon thanked the Government for having thought it wise and allocated them land to execute their duties as veterans and fend for their families.

For the existing conflict, he apologised to the members and called for unity so that the association can open up new chapters of service.

Present were staff from the Directorate of Veteran Affairs and area members of security.
