Bishop Emeritus Dr Michael Ssenyimba of Mukono diocese has passed on, family sources confirmed Tuesday.
He was the second Bishop of Mukono diocese (Anglican church).
Ssenyimba succeeded Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo in 1995, who went on to serve as Archbishop and Primate of the Church of Uganda.
In June 2002, Ssenyimba officially retired after clocking 65 years and handed over office to Paul Luzinda, who was previously a canon at the diocese.
He also previously served as vice-chancellor of Ndejje University.
The Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo is the reigning Bishop of Mukono. He is said to have also confirmed the news of the death of Ssenyimba.
