Archbishop Ssemogerere appoints another Vicar General

Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere has appointed Fr Vincent Rogers Kabuye Mukasa as one of the Vicar Generals of the Kampala Archdiocese.

The announcement was made by the Kampala Archdiocesan Chancellor, Rev. Pius Male Ssentumbwe, on behalf of Archbishop Ssemogerere on February 22, 2025.

“I am writing to inform you, on behalf of His Grace Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere of Kampala, of a new appointment within our Archdiocese. It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Fr Vincent Rogers Kabuye Mukasa as one of the Vicar Generals of the Kampala Archdiocese,” Ssentumbwe announced.

According to Ssentumbwe, Mukasa and Msgr. Gerald Kalumba will assist the Archbishop in governing and administering the archdiocese.

He expressed gratitude to Msgr. Charles Kasibante for his dedicated service as Vicar General and invoked God's blessings upon him.

The appointment letter was circulated to all priests, the Lay Faithful, and the Kampala Archdiocese.

Who is Mukasa

Prior to his appointment as Vicar General, Mukasa served as the Rector of Kisubi Seminary.

Born on November 27, 1967, in Kisubi, Uganda, Fr Mukasa was raised in a Catholic family and educated in Catholic schools.

He has also been involved in missionary work, having been released by his bishop to serve in the Diocese of Belleville in Southern Illinois, USA.

Mukasa celebrated his Silver Jubilee in priestly ministry on August 15, 1994 - August 15, 2019.
