Swimmer Atuhaire turns focus to Commonwealth Games after Olympic heartache

Swimming in Heat 2 of the 100m freestyle race, the 20-year-old’s time was 34 microseconds short of the national record that stands at 53.89 over the distance; but it was an improvement on his season’s best of 54.93 by 70 microseconds.

Ugandan swimmer Atuhaire Ambala clocked 54.23 to finish 7th out of eight swimmers as the 100m freestyle heats got underway at the Tokyo Aquatics Center on Tuesday.
