Yumbe leaders use Easter to champion unity, agriculture

Christians in Yumbe District have been urged to promote unity and love as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The call was made by Fr. Macilinous Alitia, chaplain of Maracha Hospital, during Easter Sunday Holy Mass held at Lodonga Minor Basilica.

Yumbe District vice chairperson Linus Kayiah, who also prayed at Lodonga Minor Basilica, encouraged Christians to emulate the life of Jesus by engaging in righteous deeds.



He further urged Christians and others in the district to embrace agriculture to boost household food security and join the money economy.

John Mawa, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Aringa South Constituency, also called for responsible celebrations.

He advised Christians not to overspend on Easter, especially those with PDM loans.
