On February 13, the body of Toka Kwa Barabara singer Adam Mulwana was taken to the National Theatre for mourners to pay their last respects. However, the body was left in the ambulance to prevent the public from viewing it in accordance with Islamic practices.

The singer, who came to the limelight with the song praising former Forum for Democratic Change party president and presidential candidate Col. (rtd) Dr. Kizza Besigye, breathed his last on February 13, 2024 at Doctor's Hospital Seguku, where he had been admitted following a battle with liver complications. .

Many people, including politicians from FDC and musicians, attended the event at the National Theatre.

While addressing journalists, singer Haruna Mubiru,  Mulwana's close friend, said he talked to the late two days before his passing.

"He told me he was going somewhere, but did not divulge details. I was later told he had gone out, where we think he ate something that upset his stomach. We all know he had liver complications too. When he came back from his outing, he became weak. As he was bathing, he fell in the bathroom. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died," he said.

Mubiru described Mulwana as family after he (Mubiru) supported him to convert to Islam from Christianity.

"He was called George before and I named him Adam. We were so much connected," Mubiru cried.

He thanked Besigye, saying he had just assigned Mulwana a personal doctor.

"The doctor used to examine him and  two days before he died, he was tested for cancer and found to be negative,” Mubiru said.

In their speeches, several politicians, including Besigye, Kampala Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago and Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, appreciated the work done by Mulwana. They said although he contested for the position of Makindye councillor and did not win, he kept supporting and helping different people.   .

Mulwana was known for spending most of his time at a place called Mukati in Makindye, a city suburb, where he would interact with people.

He spent two weeks there before his death.

According to his former manager, commonly known as Ambassador, Mulwana  loved helping people.

"Even when I was no longer his manager, we tried many things, including singing, but failed. When we tried politics, it worked out. He loved politics much," Ambassador, who is the manager of Bukedde TV's Ssuna Ben, stated.
