Why former MP accused of slapping Prime Minister Nabbanja was released on bail

Prosecution alleges that Twinamatsiko assaulted Nabbanja, causing her bodily harm by slapping her in a scuffle during the declaration of results for the NRM primaries’ parliamentary elections at the Kakumiro party offices on July 17.

When Twinamatsiko appeared in court, the magistrate granted him a non-cash bail of sh500,000 after finding his sureties substantial. (New Vision/Files)
